Da Massimo Ristorante Italiano: Reviews & Ratings
The food here was fantastic and the service was next level. We had the ravioli special, lemon chicken, caprese and the pistachio cheesecake and all will be remembered fondly. Eugene was warm, welcoming and hilarious. We will definitely go back and will be telling friends.
I was randomly searching for pizza in the area that wasn’t from a chain and I luckily came across this spot. Unfortunately, they don’t have pizza (or carry out to my knowledge) but when the food, atmosphere and service is this good, who cares?? Where do I start? We went there on a Friday night at around 7pm. The place is so inconspicuous that we would’ve passed it had it not been for the Christmas lights out front. We went in to the definition of a quaint but cozy restaurant and were immediately greeted by both waiters (yes there were only two but they were excellent) one of whom told us it would be a 10 minute wait. We waited in the car for 10 minutes then went back and were seated immediately. We were met with glasses of water and the best bread and seasoned olive oil pairing I’ve ever had in my life. Seriously, that may have been the best bite of the night and that’s saying a lot. We followed up with the Caesar salad and it was perfection. I ordered the vodka penne and my fiancé got the stuffed rigatoni. Both were excellent. The specials sounded amazing too but I wanted to try something I’ve had before before diving head first. But no worries because we will be back. The atmosphere allowed for us to have intimate conversations and really bask in all they had to offer. Very long story short, if you’re looking for a place to eat good and fresh food, have excellent service and just enjoy your company, this place is it. 10/10
Popped in on the Saturday after Valentine's without thinking about how busy restaurants get. And while Da Massimo doesn't take reservations, they found room for me by myself, and let me have a leisurely, delicious dinner without rushing me to open the table back up, even when telling larger parties they would have to wait for a table to open up. So right away I was impressed with the service. And the food, my goodness, I got a Burrate Caprese salad that might have been the pillowiest mozzarella I've ever had, a special called Chicken Limone that was light and fresh and fantastic, and then I splurged and ate a Tiramisu all by myself even though I was stuffed. This little restaurant that I wouldn't have thought anything of if I drove by it on the street was some of the finest food I'd had in years. 5 stars across the board, highly recommended.
Me and my husband came here on our first date night in forever this past weekend and i cannot stop talking about how amazing this place was!!! The service was wonderful. The server was attentive and extremely polite and easy to talk to. The restaurant was very intimate! First thing we got were our drinks then came the bread which was fantastic! The caprese salad was best i ever had the mozzarella was TO DIE FOR!!! I got the spaghetti and meatballs while my husband got the ravioli (which everyone has had before right?) THE BEST WEVE EVER HAD. You truly have not had it til you’ve had it from here! I am ruined from anything else! We ended the night with the cannolis and could not have been happier. The meal was very fair pricing for the quality food and service we got. The chef spoke with every table making sure everyone was happy. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. I’ve told my entire family and everyone i saw at work today about how amazing it was. 10000/10
If you want an authentic Italian experience visit this place. The owner is from Rome and he brought all the traditional recipes with him. Gino and everybody else was super friendly and attentive. Totally recommended!
Immediately greeted, exceptional tasting food. Reasonably priced Gino who I think was the owner waiting on me hand and foot. pasta was cooked al dente / perfect and I had the chicken parmesan. Definitely recommend for anybody excellence small business. You can tell they take pride in ownership in a small restaurant
IMPECCABLY MAGNIFICENT. Nonetheless,I will be detailed. First time in Florence in October 2024 post hurricane Milton, fleeing from Florida we intended to have dinner here but they were fully booked. Now we have returned and arrived promptly as they opened at 5pm, pleasantly greeted by Jennifer. You can no longer find such hidden gems anywhere in the USA. Perhaps in Italy, certo, but not in the US unless it's on South Irby Street in Florence SC. Adorable Xmas decor, quaint and clean little restaurant but the food was superb, delicious and of course the attentive service just as great. Their homemade bread is delicioso, their mozzarella cheese with tomatoes appetizer was fantastic. We had the eggplant Lasagna with their homemade sauce and the lemon chicken with pasta. People who live in Palmetto in Florence SC are lucky. Thank you for a great dinner and for our luck to have met your local lovely couple , the Barrone. WE WILL BE BACK, GRACIE.
